More Cars Than Stars

          Saturday, 29 September 2018, at 9:00 AM

Help us start a new chapter at Watauga FUMC by bringing out ANY car you want to show off or coming out to take in the sights and sounds of some awesome cars. There will be games to entertain both the young and the young at heart. Drinks will be available for purchase. Please come out and join us! We want to get to know our neighbors… and their cool cars!

Mission Desk

Did everyone know that September is national hunger month? In this note, let us, as a church, be more attentive to NEED and to our can soup drive. Let us start collecting cans of soup as a family, at home, for the February “Souper Bowl Sunday" can soup drive. How many rooms and garages can we fill with cans of soup? Also, we should be more attentive to the first Sunday of every month as Need Sunday. On the 26th of September, let us all bring non-perishable goods and overflow the Need basket!

                  Hunger in our Community

Did you know that one out of every four children goes to sleep hungry in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? After doing a food ministry for over 16 years, the need for food has become paramount.  A food ministry is the greatest and neediest ministry in the church today. The other day, I was donating goods to the Fort Worth area food pantry in the Riverside area of Fort Worth. There must have been 500-600 needy people get foodstuffs at this center. It was astounding to me to see the food epidemic in our local communities.

          In Christ's service, Ron McLeroy
