First Methodist Church is committed to excellence not only in the church family but also in the community. It is our responsibility to provide leadership and give back to the community as much as we possibly can. In recent years, FUMCOW has participated in or led many successful events from a Back to School Back Pack Rally, Vacation Bible School, 3K, 5K to Raise money for Mission to Belize, Missions to Russia, and Homeless shelter.  We are excited to list the following events FUMCOW will be participating in over the upcoming DAYS and MONTHS of 2019.

It is time to restock the pantry with food for the Weekend Food Ministry for Children - We are serving 65 or more children Three meals (“snacks”), each day of the weekend in an area elementary school. We need your help with food donations or money to purchase food. Our supply of food is in constant need! There is a donation jar in the hallway as you come in if you forget to purchase food. Please pick up a required food list to help keep the meals uniform, in the Lobby or here. And Thank You for all you do!

bible-studyOur Vision Statement is simpleWorship God, Learn the Scripture, Live it in the World.

We see little movement toward accomplishing “Learn the Scriptures”. We have five adult bible classes with some thirty-eight books (12 or so are attending two classes), which means there is room for you in one of our bible studies. We are teaching classes on the Apocrypha, the last seven books of the New Testament, the Parables of Jesus, the Jesus I never knew.

If there is any class that you have an interest in, jot down what you would like to study. Let me know when you would like it to be taught. Would you like to host a class at night, in the morning, or afternoon? Give me a note so we know what you want to learn about or when you want a class offered or where you would like to hold a class. Give the note to Gene Fondren, Ronnie McLeroy, Doris Maxwell, Barb or Duane Buckley. Help us get some new classes started.

If any of you are interested in a lay servant ministries class or a class on how, let us know.
